Me and the Pedestal
Monday, February 5th, 2007“Me and the Pedestal” was written some years ago, out at the farm, and originally recorded on 4-track cassette. (This version is on shiny digital 8-track.)
I was at a friend’s house and they had some sort of ornamental pedestal, and lo — sweet inspiration. The title came first and the rest of the song followed quite quickly.
Instrumentation includes the Alesis SR-16, Autoharp, and Anders playing bass. The vocals have been sent through a Ibanez “Super Chorus” guitar pedal.
Structure is simple: Verse - Verse - Chorus - Verse - Chorus - Chorus. We don’t need no stinkin’ bridges. Only three chords used: F, Bb, and C. Easy!
After you listen to the song, you have my permission to read the lyrics.
